A visit to my elemetary school

After 19 years this was my first visit to my old school, everything seemed familiar yet strange, I was looking at things through grown up eyes, it was a great experience since I had some of my happiest childhood memories there. They were having a charity kids thing with lots of games and activities, I took my daughter and went with mom, who was reliving the past when she used to take me there when I was almost my daughter's age. We had lots of fun.

On the craft side, I finished some of the many many many home projects I have to do, like these cushion covers for the living room. and some other bags which can't seem to work well! I have no idea why. I have to think of a birthday present for mom. any idea??

My new baby..

Once before I got married, I was in England in my dad's house feeling bored ( imagine that!!) I decided to write a list of the things I wish to do in my life, small and big. So after a while I ended up with a list of 98 things I wish for..! why not 100? I don't really now. So through the seven years that followed I tried doing things from my wish list whenever I have the chance, and this new baby was in the list. I always wished to play the guitar since I love Spanish songs, and I just had to one right now ( when life is a mess do something different!) so I don't have anyone to teach me, I will try teaching myself through cd's and the internet, my aim is to be able to play " hotel California" one day.. yeah I know that's why I have 98 wishes I dream a lot!!

Have you had enough?

I sure haven't.. I'm having a great time with bag making, and hopefully I will make lots and lots of them before I move on to the next thing I can't have enough of!
News? well nothing really except that I'm trying for the millionth time to have some plans to get my life in order, wish me luck.

What time is it?

It's time for paper crafts, again. I've been a scrapbookaholic for some time, I collected many many many paper, stickers , scissors and anything I can find, and I only finished a few pages . I think I enjoy collecting more than doing. So after a while I got bored a bit and I changed my interests to sewing and fabrics, and of course I have many many many of that and still buying..! But two weeks ago I went with mom and a friend to the scrapbook shop I love in Bahrain to show it to them, and I ended up buying another book of papers..! this time I told myself that I did that because I found in it blue and pink papers that works well with my room , so I had to have a project fast with these papers. I had that clock for 6 years and I got it from Ikea, it's originally silver colored metal, I used it in the old house with fake sunflowers all around and now in this room it's decoupaged with my lovely papers. I love how it turned out, and hopefully I will use the rest of my stack of patterned paper. Anyone want to share?

Bags and curtains

Twin black and white bags for my aunt, one pink and black bag for me.. yaaay I loove this bag, the pink and black together make it look yummy I wanna eat it..!
So now I'm working on another one for a friend, she left the colors for me to choose and believe me it's been very hard to decide, I loved many combinations but I kept fearing she wouldn't like them, I finaly chose a brown and blue combination and I kind of like it so far. Hope that she does too.
The curtains of my craft room was finished since last weekend, and I just love the result, the light flows inside the room and I can see the streets and cars when I open them, it was a nice project made of two twin sheets , left over fabric from my before marriage room, and scraps of my current favourite fabrics and color combination of pinks and blues.
Oh yah and I forgot to wish every one a happy Eid,and a happynew year, may this year be better and happier to everyone.

My first zippered pouch..and other things

I finaly had the courage to try sewing zippers, my aunt asked for a pouch ages ago and I kept delaying things because I was scared of trying my hands with zippers, but after reading a tutorial in one of the blogs,I tried it and it turned out verry easy and verry verry nice looking ( If I may say so ) so atlast I can now do other things.
speaking of other things.. I finished the black and white bag for my cousin and guess what, her mother ( my mom's aunt) liked the colors so much she ordered two..!! Two more black and white combinations..! not that I'm not grateful she liked my bags and ordered another two ( she already ordered a blue one) but black and white..well, not all people like color like I said. But I'm really happy that someone is ordering bags even if they are the same color.
So the other picture up there is for a mat I baught for my kitchen floor, I like these old looking pictures and it seems cool in the kitchen, because I don't cook much but when I do I do it with love ;)

A calm weekend

And a productive one too,I'm almost done with moving my thing from the old house, plus we just had two of the three curtains we ordered put up, and boy does it change the look of the house..!We still have many rooms left and alot of boxes to empty but that's nothing, I feel more and more at home.
We went to the movies last monday and I watched a very nice movie called " the holiday" It made me want to rent out my house and swap with someone anywhere in the world for a couple of weeks, I really need the change. I wish I can just close my eyes and when I open them again I would be in a European country, site seeing and shopping and enjoying the cool houses and green land. AHHHH. dreams.. rosy ones!
Anyways, I'm back into my patchwork bags, this time another black and white combination as a gift for a cousin who will be leaving to the states with her family on a business trip for nine months inshallah, I thought I was done with these combinations of colors but obviously ppl here prefer the nuetral colors. I prefer bold colors, but that have to wait.
My girl is still driving me crazy that's why this is the first night that I try working after she goes to sleep, I was afraid the sound of the sewing machine would upset her sleep ( and her daddy's) but we testted the sounds and it was ok.. Thanks to Allah now I can enjoy my room with the tv in it, not that it has anything interesting anyway.
So the above picture is of the gift I made for my baby sister, the mirror ofcourse is not my making..lol

Hard to work..

and all that because my three year old gets super crazy everytime I start using the net, sewing or do anything beside talk with her and play.. I know it's my job to entertain her since she doesn't have a sister or a brother, doesn't go out much and didn't start school (or preschool), but I need to work on my things too or I'll lose my mind..! I don't go out much either ( meaning no friends, no job, not even a studying course or a health club) and the whole day we spend it together alone, except for the occational time my mom visits or take her or both of us out...
Anyway I'm missing something very badly and I just don't know what it is.. I need a friend to share my interests and love for crafts with, maybe I should look harder.. Does anyone here live in Saudi Arabia and loves craft? plz contact me I need help..!
So I finally finished the last bag as I said before, and today I embeleshed it with a felt flower and some rickrak.. the picture is bad but so is the lighting in the house since it's very cloudy outside.
We are thinking of going to the movies, but nothing confirmed yet, I'm gonna lose my mind with this girl..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How does my garden grow..?

In small plastic pots.. I tried gardening after a very long time since I even had a plant in the house, all because I sow mom do it and it seemed very easy and enteresting.. It wasn't..! easy that is, I kept clumsily dropping soil and water everywhere and almost killing all the poor small flowers from forcing them into the pots. ofcourse if mom wasn't helping I think everything would be dead by now, but thanks to Allah they all look nice and blooming. I put all the plastic pots in the area where I look out the window more.. the kitchen. and it sure makes a difference to brighten a day.

In another area, after what seems like forever I finally started sewing again, and finished the last of the patchwork bags that my aunt ordered before Eid. It seemed like I forgot how to do everything and redid alot of the bag many times before I finished it, and even now I'm not very happy with it, but no way I'm gonna do it again..!
And I even did a nice cushion cover for my new crafts/morning living room.. the picture is dark, the colors are pinks ( dark and light) and blues..

Anyway it's the weekend and I think all we are going to do is try to bring some of our stuff from the old house, wish us luck it's starting to seem funny living without most of our things.

Long time.. lot's of news

Hi everyone at blog world, I missed you soo much, it's been a very long time since I last posted, and it feels even longer than it realy is.. lot's of things has happened since the last time I was here, making bags and blogging about my boring life..! first of all my almost three years old daughter was sick coughing all the time and having a fever, and when we took her to the doctor he sayed she had to check in the hospital for a few days to treat her, and it was a very scary and hurting experience for us seeing her just laying there in her bed after being so full of life. But thanks to Allah she is good now, after those few days in the hospital we went to Taif for the last two days of Ramadan ( by car , passing through Ryadh and spending a few hours there ) then to Jeddah for my family's Eid lunch and his family dinners.. then to Makkah for the rest of the vacation to spend with his family. We had lots of good times and some stressfull ones, but by the end of the vacation we had the most disturbing news, our house was drowning...! apparently a water hose from our sink just exploded and the house was soaking wet for a few days before the water started to go out and someone called us about it. We had to cut our vacation and went back to check the damage, luckily our furniture is mostly good, but the floors were damaged and the roof was leaking. So we thought it would be better to move houses ( we are renting ) than to try to fix everything up since it was an old house in the first place with many problems.

To make a long story short, we are now in our new house ( which is very near the old one and much better and much much expensive..! ) but most of our ( my ) stuff is in the old one, which is leaving me feeling disoriented and not really settled..

Wow..! how is that for a month? but atleast we are all well and happy together, and I get to redecorate..LOL.. Plus we celebrated our daughter's 3rd birthday at mom's house and was a very nice thing with strawberry shortcake themed decorations.. I can't believe she is 3 already..

So tonight mom and I went to buy some plants for the kind-of-walkway,garden thingy.. hopefully they will not die on me, we just started the rainy season of the year and that might take care of watering them. hehe
