Be careful what you wish for..

Is the name of the book i've just finished reading, it's a romantic comedy story about a thirty something woman who had a magical thing that made all her wishes come true, and then she just discovers that it's not a good thing..Hmmm ok so I know what she meant, but is it really not a good thing to have your wishes coming true? And I mean small wishes, good wishes not harming anyone or wishing something bad to happen to someone..

Well , I still have a wish list that I want to see it happening.

And speaking of wishes , I've always wished I can take nice pictures like the one my old camera used to produce before it drowned in Jeddah, and I think with this new camera my uncle got me I got my wish.. Here is a sample of what this camera is good at.

I'm just starting to explore it well but it has a great potential..

I just loved the way the zoom worked, and the kind of pictures where the background is blurry.. More to come, I can't seem to have enough of my new camera mashallah.. Thanks uncle for a very precious gift.

Office space

Not mine, in case you don't remember I don't work, but my dear mom does, and she always have the best offices in the world mashallah.

See I take after my mother in loving a decorated environment , and since she has always been working (social worker) she always concentrates on her office. And this is her recent one

It's small more like a cubicle with one tiled wall (hey it's a hospital) that she stuck this brick look a like sticky paper over , she put a lot of greenery because she just loves plants , and mashallah plants love her, I think every one does mashallah and I'm not just saying that because she is my mother..

She stuck a rattan patterned paper on the small table and book case, and those lovely flowers from ikea on the walls,

Slipcovered a small chair and the office chair in red fabric and is about to hang a very nice painting on the empty wall.

Do you think you would love to work in a place like that? I think I might, even if it was in a hospital which I hate..! ( no I think I will only visit!)

A new year, a new room

First I want to wish every one a very happy year that's filled with love, friends, success and good food!

So you might remember a picture I had of my dining area.. What, you don't? ok here it is..

That was a before picture of this after..

Yesterday I had some friends over for brunch, and since it happened to be the first day of the year I made a small celebration in the form of an all golden table setting, (I chose everything because I liked the golden color of it )

We had a very good time (I know I did) , but we were missing two ladies, which was sad.. But the year has just begun and we still have time on our hands inshallah.

Have a nice day.

Wintery crafts

Do you consider crocheting a craft? well if you do then I crafted something today while visiting with my aunty for lunch.. I was hoping to start something for my husband for this cold weather but what I had with me turned very hard and stiff so I did this instead..

In case you are wondering what is it, here it is in action, as usual modeled by my eager to help little girl..

I got this yarn from Bahrain and I only got one, hmm what is it called? unit? anyway so it had to be a short scarf. just a neck warmer, not for my kid even though she used it more than I did!

So it's good working with wool when it's cold, keeps you warm.

I got a new gift from my uncle, a sony cyber-shot digital camera.
A few years ago he got me a then newest model, now it is a new one and I just can't wait to use it, I love photography and This one seems to be promising, thanks dear uncle for the third camera you gave me in my life. All of them top of the lines.

A day filled with kids (mashallah)

It all started when two families decided to go to the corniche to meet and have the kids play together, mom , my girl and I met mom's friend, her daughter(my childhood friend) and her kids at the play ground.

It was very cold but the sun warmed us up a bit, the kids played together, even the smallest one was having the time of her life in her baby walker.

Us moms were freezing while sitting to keep an eye at them, and the grandmas were warm and comfy inside the restaurant (Kudu) . It was a fun filled afternoon .

And at night the fun time continued when our small family went to my cousin's house (moon face's house ) and met our other cousin and all the kids gathered to play...

Hmmm play, well that what I think they were doing..

The attack of the children..

So 7amdillah we do have nice times in the cold weather.

It's getting really cold here

Of course when I say cold I mean cold to us, compared to the very hot weather we usually have, I don't mean snowy cold or something like that, but still it is considered cold..(by the way it's not that dark my picture makes it look so)

Anyways it's cloudy today but still no rain, it just looks nice from inside the house where I think it's colder than it is outside ( 19 degrees ) ..

What I really wish for these days is a fireplace, I think it will be so lovely sitting in front of a fireplace all snuggled on some fluffy pillows, while under warm blanket drinking hot chocolate.. Sounds dreamy.

I want to go to sleep, I think I'm hibernating or something..

Visiting the theater

Two days ago we went to Bahrain to see the Egyptian play " Body guard" in the theater, The cast is very famous , with the leading role for " Adel Imam" and it's the first time that he comes to Bahrain or any where near, so we had to go and see it.
(That's him in the middle in the dark blue jacket)

The planning of the event wasn't very good and the place was crowded with chairs more than people, but after the two hours delay the show was very nice. It felt different to see the actors live and so close, and over all it was funny and we enjoyed it.

Next stop to me? I want to see a musical, a ballet and the opera..
One day inshallah.

Our first day in Eid...

We gathered with my in-laws in Dammam's corniche for a very late lunch that was cooked as usual by my very talented Aunt in law (is that name right??) mashallah she cooks very yummy meals and we were a very big group.

We stayed there till after sunset and it got cooler by the end of our stay, the kids played together in the close playground or flied some kites , while the grown up had their own games to play, it was fun, I think it's always good to meet family.

Speaking of which my brothers - in - law are visiting for this Eid and my girl is having a very great time with them, they love her so much mashallah.

So I hope everyone is having a great Eid.
