Good day, good week 7amdilla

Work is still going on very well mashalla on the house. After putting the wall-to-wall carpeting in my princess's room, I ordered the wooden floors and they were delivered today , inshalla to be installed on Tuesday. I can't wait.!

This morning while waiting for a few workers to finish up we stayed at the carpeted room, mom worked a bit on her laptop on a very original table :P



while the kiddo listened to some music and danced around.
God I love natural sunlight in the rooms mashalla.





while we were waiting there our neighbors/friends came to work on their house as well and we had some coffee together , it was a fun time we had. And their house is very pretty mashalla, in a more advanced stage than mine since they started before I did.

I took a few pictures of my room with the fabric I bought for the curtains, but the wall color looks orangy there I have no idea why,since it's a light pink.

House update

It's been a long time since I last posted anything related to me new place, I have been working hard on it. not myself but even looking after workers is hell ! :P I'm not complaining though , cuz doing stuff for your own house is really a good thing mashalla.

Anyways since it's probably gonna be a while till I reach the stage of decorating, I will share with you a picture of my bathroom after the remodeling, and just consider it an in-between picture..

Muchhhh better mashalla don't you think?I think lol I still need to paint that wall above the sink, and find some flowery cottagy accessories for the bathroom.

And this is what I got as a brick wall, with the small window facing the kitchen door.. (ignore my bag lol)



So other than that I am waiting for the wall to wall carpeting in the princess's room to be delivered, and I will be inshalla ordering my wooden floor anytime in the next few days. After that it's gonna be the fun part.. Furnishing and decorating, yaaaay :)

In the last week my uncle and his lovely family visited us from Yanbu, it was a nice visit filled with family gatherings and some shopping. My aunty -God bless her- bought two of my baby photo albums and even ordered 16 handmade cards.. 16!!! and I had 2 days to make them :P
Which I did 7amdilla and they turned out good mashalla if I can say so myself..lol

Anyways, it's the end of the summer break and back to school for us :S waking up early is gonna be a bit hard after that week.

A busy month !

It's my 400 post..! woopi I can't believe I have been talking that much lol

So April has been very busy so far mashalla. I went to Bahrain one weekend, Jeddah the other and celebrated my 35th birthday in between..

I am still working on my house ( or apartment :P) and actually enjoying every tiring minute of it who knew I would enjoy hard work lol.

So in Bahrain it was very fun watching movies in the cinema after two months of absence, I enjoyed all of them (Alice in wonderland 3D .. When in Rome.. Shutter island and spy next door )



And on my birthday my little princess made me a surprise while we were having lunch in fridays and asked them to sing happy birthday for me



then at home she sprinkled colored chocolae sprinkles on my cake and got me a set of my favorite bear's ( aside from tatty teddy ) party supplies.( the bear is from forever friends)



I cut my hair - again :P- and finally colored it red..! I had that on my wish list.

In Jeddah I visited with my family and really had a great time, and also attended the engagement party of my best friend who is like a big sister to me,



she had it in her house with bubbles and fog machines and disco lights. it was a great night mashalla and I wish her all the happiness. My little one had a blast lol. and the funniest thing hapened when the bride tossed her flowers for us single ladies to catch....

7amdilla , life is great I can't ask for better mashalla.. :)

Reading my post a year ago on my 34th birthday ( I can't believe I was depressed about being 34 !! :P) I will add the 35th thing about me..

35. I am a net addict. I can spend most of my day infront of my computer, even have meals while surfing. I love to visit blogs, and you can always find me on facebook :P pathetic lol. But I can get u answers for anything you might ask or want from the net, I thank my ex for this ability of good search.. Yes you read right I positive thing from my marriage lol . kidding, there are few others :P my princess is the best of them.

On this mother's day...

My baby surprised us at the house with a very cute and dear to my heart celebration..



Mashalla she planned a small party with what she can get at home, the family maids helped her with a cake mix, a candle and an old toy juice dispenser that we never really tried using before.


They even made the sign for her, but it was all her idea. we really got surprised, she served all of us mashalla like a great hostess :)



I'm so proud of her, and really blessed to be her mom.

The house news? well I just finished working on the redecorating projects. and even painted the walls, which mashalla turned out good, and today mom got me the air conditions split units and the rest of the electrical machines.. God help newly weds....! prices are getting really high..!
Anyways they will deliver them inshalla next Saturday.

And I am not sure whether to post 0apicture of the new bathroom now or after decorating it for more effect.. I'll think more about it ;

The many faces of a girl

I m disappointed in one of my new home projects, my brick wall isn't the way I imagined it would be. But I would still consider it as looking good inshallah, maybe once everything is cleaned and painted. Hopefully. Ya Rab....!

The journey of a bathroom

It's a very hard journey, the one taken to get a good looking bathroom :P
I have a weak spot when it comes to good bathrooms, the first thing I look at in new homes or hotel rooms is the bathroom. There is no rule to what makes a bathroom a good one for me, it's just a feeling I get. But some good points to consider are:
- Good natural light .
- Great shower head.
- Enough space for some decorative touches.
- Nice color theme.

My new bathroom has a good light natural and artificial.. And that's it lol

My precious mom convinced me that since it's gonna be my home for life inshalla I might as well have a good one, something that I would like every bit of it. And I think she has ulterior motive, she doesn't want me to move out anywhere in the near future, because working on that seems to take forever..! Ok I just started today but it feels like it's gonna take forever.

So I am aiming for a few things to do in my new place inshalla..
I need white tiles ( I read in many blogs they are called subway tiles) , a sink with a cabinet , and halfway painted walls ( with no tiles on that , it's not a big hit in this country to have non tiled walls in a bathroom)

All white bathrooms makes it easy to change your mind about which color you want in there, which I do a lot..!
And painted walls make the change easier and more dramatic , just paint over with a new color.
The cabinet helps make the place look better and make me have extra storage space, much needed in my small yet cozy place. I got one from Ikea, love everything about it mashalla.

So in other words I wish I can change this..( girl not included in the change, I wouldn't wanna change anything in her perfect little girliness mashalla )

Wish me luck I am about to panic lol.. But the good thing in all this? I am learning to be more patient.

on picking a color..

Or on settling for just one color is more like it ! I have a strong love to colors, since I love almost all the colors in the world.. So picking one color ( per room of course) is hell to me..

In my past houses ( yes I moved A LOT ) I used most colors you can - or can't - think of.. Greens, blues, red , brown , orange , yellow , pink , purples .. just name it..

So now in my final house - please I want to settle down :P - I am not sure which colors to pick.. I know I can always repaint in a year or so ( or even less ) but the first color will always be the special one..

So far I managed to feel good about the color of the living room, and my kid picked a very interesting -mommy like- color ( fuchsia and red with black !) and the last room is making me lose sleep..

It's my craft/soon to be also bedroom , and I can't settle on one color. Ok I know I want pink, but with what? orange would be too strong if i ever used it as a bedroom, blue will be in the living room, green i m bored of and red, well it will be used in my kid's room.

Anyways I still have a few days before deciding, and like I said I can always repaint.

So today I managed to do something in the house, I got my cousin to bring in the plumber and electrician to see about the work that need to be done, inshalla they will start Saturday yaaaaay..!

new home inspiration

I have a clear image in my mind about the major things I need to have in a home , such as wooden laminate floors and a fireplace..

Another thing I always wanted was a brick wall, the kind u see in cottages or new york style loft apartments. And I wanted it painted white.
Knowing what I want doesn't make having it easy, so far I found a few choices, I can either use big sheets of fake white briks and fix them to the wall ( I don't know how though) or hire an artist to faux paint it with a certain substance to make the realistic look..



Or... I can try to do it myself.. I like the idea of doing it myself even though lately working on such things make me tired fast..

Anyways I still need to do a few more trips to some decorating stores to see what other options I can get.

I'm still not all settled on one color scheme, I just love all colors, which make it harder on me to stick to one choice.. or two ..lol but as you might have guessed, it all has to have pink in them ;)

Home sweet home..

It's been nearly two years since my divorce, a hard time for me that involved tears, fears and lot's of depending on my close and beloved family for support. I grew a lot in these two years, more than I did through the previous 33 years.

While I was still recovering ( and I think in a way I still am) I needed to be as close as possible to my mother, which I'm living with her parents to take care of them. It was a good arrangement for a while, but 4 different generations are so hard to be under one roof. I was raised with my grandparents and mother ( same group of people I am with now) and I had my own hard time and bad memories, of course beside tons of good ones, but I don't think it's very nice having the same situation again with my own kid and me in the same place my mom was in back then.

So my dear mother is helping me to move on with the rest of my life in a more settled and secure way, by having a place for me and my daughter to call our own.. Home sweet home.. and I can't be any more exited 7amdilla.

It's a small place, cozy and bright mashalla and I love it so much. it's ours so I will be decorating it inshalla with pleasure and a greatt amount of consideration. And I would like to share this journey with u here..

So from now on (until I am done with the decoration ) it will be all about my journey of creating a home..
