I Love Cath Kidston...! and other things.

I came back from an 8 days trip to England, the main reason for it was to attend my sister's wedding, the other reason was to visit a Cath Kidston shop...kidding lol :P

The wedding was so lovely mashallah, the couple looked great and I wish them happiness from all my heart. The whole atmosphere was very friendly and joyfull , we had a great time and made new friends.. I am so glad I could make it.

It was cold but I was stronger than I feared and took it well,I even enjoyed it!.. After a three days stay for the wedding with my family, we went to London to have a 4 day sight seeing , shopping and friend-meeting vacation.
I met my friend who went to live there a year ago with her family and had a great time, and mom's friend came and stayed with us for a while.

And we come to the best thing in my trip... CATH KIDSTON....yaaay !!
I was dreaming a lot of visiting a shop, and buying one of each of thier good things ... I got many things but not as much as I hoped for... I will have to go again and again inshallah...

So that's all for now, I'll have to comeback with more pictures after I put what I bought in the right places, but here is a glimpse, I got those from London after admiring them online for some time ;)

A new adventure

Ok so I guess I will have to stop making excuses for not posting , since it looks like it's gonna become a habit, and I don't really have any excuse !

Lately I have been in a hibernation kind of mood, it's getting a bit colder ( as cold as it gets in my part of earth!) and my body is slowing down.
We have been busy preparing for our trip to England to attend my sister's wedding inshallah, I feel so excited and yet a lot worried. It's very cold there I fear for the kiddo who has been ill for the last few weeks, and for myself since my body hasn't been functioning well lately!
Plus of course having to wear tons of clothes which will make breathing harder and moving a challenge.. :P

But it has been a long time since I last went there, 10 years to be precise , when I went to buy my wedding dress. And now I am going for another wedding , my lovely sister.. I wish it will be a great day and that she will have a great life with her love.

I will also be meeting my friend who went there a year ago with her family, so I am excited about that, I missed her and my other friend who is in Canada now, hope to be together again for ladies night out like the old days.

So tomorrow night inshallah we will be off to England, hope the weather will be gentle on us and hope my body will be good to me ;)

Screening my place

My place is lovely mashallah and I am mad about it.. But, It has no entrance.. you walk in the door straight to the living room.. And I mean straight..!

So being the privacy freak I am , plus it is important to be covered from the outer world, I had many ideas to have a barrier next to the door separating it from the living room, even if partially.
But the room is already smallish and every clever thought I had meant taking from the space, and I love to have space.

So mom suggested I use one of her divider screens, she had them from long time ago and is being used once a week.I agreed for sure, because I already looked hard for good screens and I couldn't find, and I needed to separate the areas now with what I got till I find a better one. The problem is it looks bland.

So i managed to make it more me using a roll of wall paper I got from Laura Ashley while in Bahrain.. I think it looks much better.

At least we don't have to move every time we have to open the door :P
Our neighbor bought a small bunny, and my little princess fell in love with it, they came visiting one day and I couldn't resist taking pictures...

2011

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE..!

It's the year of the cat.. Or so I heard.!I am going to make this year my year inshallah, no that doesn't mean I will be the cat :P
I ended last year with positive thoughts, and 7amdilla woke up to the new year with happy feelings. I have to try doing that more often, daily maybe ;)

So 2010 wasn't that good with me , thanks to Allah in all ways, so I'm hoping 2011 would treat me better, and I'll do my best to attract good things to me, but the main thing I'll try to rediscover myself again.

Somehow along the way I lost myself, if I ever really knew me to begin with.. But I am seriously willing to meet me, the real me, and get aquainted with my true self.
To know who I am, what I  like, where i want to go.. that is going to be one big adventure.. One I am willing and eager to take.

So like every new year I have hopes and dreams, they were usually one of three things that don't change : find a loving man, be a mom and get thin.
I thought I got them all at one point , and then lost some. And thanks to Allah that I have one of those, I won't trade my motherhood with anything.
This year I will not wish for the man, or the weight loss.. I wish to love and accept and discover me.. and if those two came along I won't say no to that lol

So hope everyone in this life get what they want, and that 2011 be a happy year to all.

Hello..!

Well less than a month of no posts, phew not bad !
It was a somehow strange month, I fell sick right after the kiddo's B-day and stayed sick ( flew and coughing) for nearly the whole Eid vacation, then back to school routine came to us, and I had a rootcanal, then my mom fell and hurt her ankle, got into ER the next week and stayed in for the night then her uncle passed away..!
talk about being busy..

We are all well now 7amdillah, except for my great uncle may he rest in peace( Allah yir7amu) , it was a sad news but we felt that inshallah he will be in a better place since he was very sick and old. He was a great guy , his youngest is my age and I was always at their house playing while we were growing, I haven't seen him in many years, and I regret that, but I will always love him and remember how good he was with me and my mom.

So the whole family are in Jeddah now for the funeral, I stayed back for the schools and to check on my grandfather from time to time. Today I took the kiddo to Ikea, and guess what we ended up with sitting in our living room for the moment..

We always liked and wanted that , but it was very pricey.. Look how low it got now in the as-is section ..

I know, still pricey, and there is no room for it in her room currently, but it was too good a deal to ignore, and she is a girly girl who needs such a piece, so we will find a way to squeese it in inshallah :P

I talked sometime ago about the project I was working on, it's still not finished, but I will share a glimse with you, since i don't really know when it will finish, I am going to start working on the kiddo's room now..I hope she is settled on the theme now..!

Eid and Birthday

The last few days were fun filled mashalla, first it was Eid and we went with the whole family to Holiday Inn resort at the beach, like the last few years the kids had lots of fun times playing in the sand and running aroung all day mashallah.
Plus we had a good time taking pictures of them ;)

We got sick during that time, coughing and sore throat, but in general still enjoyed our Eid vacation.

My little princess turned seven on wednesday, I can't believe how time flies by so fast, it was just like yesterday they put her in my arms for the first time. I thank Allah for his gift, she is a precious one mashallah, even when she drives me crazy lol

We celebrated this year with the family in the resort, it was fun , missing my cousin's wife and good friend though, wish she comes back safely inshalla. And the kiddo had an early celebration with her dad and step mom two days before. So it was a nice birthday for her :)

Everyone is back at home now, I still feel a bit sick, trying to just relax for now, then I will resume my project inshallah and have a trip or two to Ikea , I got a gift card from my uncle , I wonder what can I get now lol.

Playing time..

We gather at my grandparent house almost every Friday, my uncles, cousins and kids. And the kids always like playing together with what toys they have , under the stairs.
It was a very crowded areas, like a storage space for what is good and what is not. And as a result the toys and games always end up in the dining area where they can find enough space for their wild imagination.

So my dear talented mom , mashallah, decided to make them a good playing area. It's a shame I don't have a before picture but imagine this one with lots of rubbish. And now take a look at this great space..

She wanted to paint it all and draw things there, but I got her some wall stickers for now. she hung a small swing , and put all the kiddo's old toys there for them to play.

Plus some touch lights she stuck to the ceiling to make the area more lit. And she is still adding to it , it's not really done yet.

The kids haven't seen the whole transformation yet, but my girl loves it.. I love it ! it feels like a tree house, under the stairs lol

And speaking of time.. I got me a new clock.. I adore it..! mashallah I just love it so much. I might wanna paint it white, but just a thought, this color looks good too.

We are going to the beach inshallah for a few days, I'll come with pictures soon , Have a nice Eid vacation and Happy Eid to all.

Lighting my night..

Ok so I thought of clever titles but I couldn't find any lol..
I did it again, long time without posting, but I had good reasons, my net was off. I had some trouble with my connections and went netless for a long time, I also went nuts because of that :P

Anyways , back to the title, I wanted something to introduce the new floor lamp I got. I fell in love with it straight away and got it without thinking, I even got a hanging one similar to it for the living room, but it's not installed yet

What do you think? what sold it to me was the lace-like little cuts, and the crystals, or crystal-like thingies.
I know my english is incredible lol.

and in case I didn't show my other lamp, here it is ( I got it from Jeddah )

So now I have the right mood to sit and watch TV late at night and just relax.

We went to Jeddah in the weekend to attend my friend's wedding. She's more like a sister and her wedding was very nice mashallah, different from all our weddings, it started in the late afternoon and we stayed there till only 8 at night. She had it on a moving boat in a closed area with windows all over and a DJ. Lovely wedding mashallah she looked gorgeous, I wish her all the happiness in the world.

My other friend will come to visit inshallah in a few days, I feel excited to see her and show her my new place, I feel like a kid :P
The sad news is that my childhood friend has discovered her husband has cancer, they are in Canada now and he started his treatment, I pray for them all the time, strength for her and health for him, may Allah help them and be with them.

I am working on a project now, but it's a relatively big one and I am getting slow with age :P so inshallah pictures soon.

Making life a bit easier

We live on the second floor, but we have an elevator. I know second floor isn't very high to need one, but I am being lazy and enjoy my rides in it. But lately it has been out of service , and we are using the stairs - like normal people - which is hard on the knees going up and down with a school bag! (ok I am lazy and spoiled :P )

So my mom god bless her, came up with this very nice plan to easily move the bag - or grocery or anything else - up and down..
I introduce.... Ummm ok I don't know what is it called lol so I'll show you the pictures.!

Like our driver said -he drilled the holes, it was too far for me - it's like bringing water from the well :P

And can you tell the kiddo loves it??

A bit hard on the hands, but easy on the knees and back.. Thanks mom we love you :X

Did I mention I love tin boxes? or buckets or containers in general? I found something that I really loved some time ago in a container store, but I didn't buy it till a couple of days ago..

Now i have what i really needed for a long time; a place to put my laundry detergent.. :P don't we all need one?but seriously I need to work on decorating my laundry area. pics when done inshallah.
And speaking of needs.. I need this beauty.. in pink please.!

I've seen it before on the net, never in real life before, and I will not rest till I find where it is sold and how much is it and do they stock the pink ones?! I saw this one in Ikea showroom, maybe I should ask them first..

Nothing new is done ..

And yet I don't feel like staying a long time away from posting like I did before.
I have no news, nothing much to share, life is a bit of the same everyday, waking up early, getting ready for school, sleeping again, then attempting to find something to do ( actually I have lots to do but I don't have the motivation ) start lunch , welcome the kiddo, eat, study, try to find her something to do ( same case as above :P ) eat dinner, get ready for bed and sleep.. she at 8 me at 9 thirty.. most days at least.

So as you can see we have a somehow slow routine. In between I might go out to get something or to go to the dentist, and weekends are spent with mom maybe going out to dinner once.
Not that I am complaining 7amdilla it's a good life, but I just wish I had more energy to achieve more decorating or crafting around the house.

Plus the gym I so want to go to.. Inshalla soon.
Anyways I have a few things on my mind that i want to maybe start this week, wish me luck.

Oh yah, I managed to fix my bedroom curtain, no pic though since I already had 3 of those on previous posts lol , you can imagine the outcome, it's longer now with pink polka dot fabric at the hem. and I like it better :)

Since I have to have a pic on my posts I will leave you with some inspirations from the net..

Those are probably going to be my next projects inshallah ;)
