Trouble..

Again I'm having trouble with the pictures from blocking the site which my pictures are uploaded to it, so if you are reading from Saudi Arabia you probably won't be able to see most of the pictures, it's frustrating and I'm trying to figure a way to have pictures all the time.

(p.s I took this picture in a market in Limassol , first I thought it was a bag that looks like a fish but mom said it is a fish..!)

Strange weather

Very hot, sometimes windy, sometimes cloudy, sometimes a little sand storm with drops of rain.. Very unpredictable and fastly changing just like my moods..
So to cheer us up these are a few pictures of the Disney's princesses.

First of all I would like to thank every one of you special ladies who entered my give away, it meant a lot to me to know you read my blog and wanted to join me with my celebrating my 100 posts.

I kept pushing the time for the draw hoping for more people to sign in, but truly I should appreciate the support I get from you and not look for more.

Anyway so first very late at night since I fell asleep while putting my girl in bed (and husband was out) I put the names in my small bucket for the draw..



And while I was taking a picture of it my husband came back home so I let him pick a paper.. He was puzzled about what I'm doing but after he picked the name I explained it all..

Which as a coincidence I will be seeing tomorrow morning inshallah for a visit.

like mother like daughter..

In may ways my daughter is acting like me, like I'm sure I was acting like my mom when I was young.. She likes to talk like me, dress like me, do things like I do even get her things like the ones I have which is scary sometimes because I have to watch what I do and say all the time .. Which I try to do.!

So that day we made cupcakes, she wanted to help so I let her, and then I gave her the chance to have her own bear cake.. She made it herself and decorated it with the whole box of sprinkles, and then, she didn't eat it beacause she doesn't like cake much! at least she had a good time making them.



That day we ended up having a cupcake/lemonade party in my husband home office, It was nice having home made lemonade, it's been a long time since I last made some.



And yesterday I was doing some sewing and ironing on my table, and she was doing the same step by step.. She looked so cute even singing the same song I was singing ( which was from her much watched jungle book) . After she finished I had to take a picture of my machines and hers, I like hers better if only they work well..!

The spring festival

In Limassol at the 13th of May, they were celebrating spring, I think it's an ancient thing since the Greeks, anyway they were supposed to have a flower exhibition and market, and also a parade.
We were very excited, mom because she loves flowers and everything flowery, and me because I wanted my girl to see a flower parade, she has this story book about a girl who take a part in a parade in her village, and every time I read her the book I feel that she doesn't really get it. So this was a great chance for her to see what her second favorite character did in that book.



So we went to where the market is set, and we got disappointed, it was very small and more like a market for plants and some flowers for people to plant in their homes. But still we had some nice times looking at plants, and buying some things, like my tatty teddy and this..



She wanted it badly because frankly who can resist their third favorite character in a larger than life size ( first favorites being Disney's princesses)? First we said no because it was very expensive, I mean we get this in our city for 10 riyals, they asked for 40! and hey we will be leaving the country in a few days and it's a balloon..! anyway she cried and cried then remembered she had some money we gave her earlier in her bag, suddenly she came down the stroller and gave me the money with tears in her eyes saying " mom I have money I want to buy Dora " Oh my god I felt so small.. she broke my heart, but it was a matter of principal, so we looked for another person selling balloons and asked for the price , it was 30 still expensive but less than the other one, plus it's very big so maybe it's a good prise. So we got her Dora which she kept hugging for about two hours before she forgot all about it! but still when we came home I took out the air from it and took it with me maybe I can use it as a decoration in her room!

We then waited for the parade in Burger king because it was one of the places with seats looking at the street where the parade will be



, when it started they kept throwing flowers at people and my daughter wasn't very excited, so I took her down to the streets beside the cars and kids passing with flowers and she got crazy, she kept jumping up and down non stop mashallah shouting in Arabic " give me flowers give me flowers " and since she looked so cute they did,



and after the parade was finished we gathered some more from the empty streets.. It was a very good day I felt happy seeing her happy.



And at the end of the day she was counting her trophies proudly, she had 48 flowers! I think this was a day to remember..

Shopping

What vacation would be complete without shopping? Sometimes I think that I love shopping the most when I travel and not just to buy things, But just looking at different kind of shops, merchandise and window dressing.

Well most of my purchases usually are gifts, I like to get me a soft toy as a reminder, and something with the theme of the country. I went to a shop filled with my favorite tatty teddy and I went crazy wanting everything, but I got one that is holding a white with red hearts handkerchief from the spring festival market, I just couldn't resist the crying thing.



Then If I have money and time I would get something for me, usually clothes or accessories to remember my trip every time I wear them. This time I found a very cool accessories shop filled with colorful bags, belts and many small things, I just had to have these polka dot red everything..! The bag was from a different shop.



And maybe something for the house or my room. I got me some cool kitten cards that I hang on my crafts room wall, and some cupcakes magnets and tea towels that i might use as fabric for a bag or a pillow cover, don't know yet..





This trip I had my first visit to a second hand shops, I found one that looked really nice with a cute metal sign on it's door,



I went there just to have a quick look since we didn't have much time , and I was amazed by how clean and tidy and new everything looked like, maybe I thought second hand meant very old but it was ok, I wish I had more time to look through everything but it was a good experience.

Trees, flowers, cats and dogs

What do they have in common? I have pictures of them all from my trip..

So starting with trees.. I loved the looks of citrus trees every where in the island, lovely shape , filled with oranges or lemons with lots of the fruits falling every where and no one is picking them, I wonder why..



I loved all sorts of trees in general, it makes every thing looks fresh and lovely.. My best tree was the one with all the purple flowers all over it, I don't know it's name but I've already seen it in Abha and fell in love with it, it even looks lovelier here..



Flowers too, I didn't see much flowers there like I usually see in other European countries, but still spring was obviously in the air..



And who can resist small cats playing in the sun or under the trees? not me I just love cats and kittens..





As for dogs.. I don't like them much but they look so cute sometimes in other people's side. we saw many shapes and kinds of them and my daughter kept pointing at every one we see, but this cute one was big and fluffy and it's owner liked the idea of us taking pictures of him so he put him on the trolley he was pushing for us to have a good picture, nice.

They lived there once..

And now it's only ruins, I like going to ruins and historical places, even though at school I hated the subject (history) But somehow I find it very good to walk through old castles and houses or even cities, seeing what's left of them and imagining the people walking and living there..

I kept imagining that maybe one day people would walk into what's left of our house many years later and think to themselves " what was it like to live there? " I know for sure that in their days they weren't imagining that one day all that would be left of their power , fortune and youth will only be some stones and bones..

Knock knock..

I love doors, pictures of colorful doors or windows make me smile and feel happy, that's why I try to take pictures of as many doors and windows as possible , of course when I find some that I love, like the window in an earlier post that I took in Italy.

Well I took a few in Cyprus, and I really saw more that I liked but these are the one I could take during our walks.. I hope you enjoy them as I did..

100

well hello there, miss me? I missed you too, so this is my 100th post and I'm typing it right after I came home back from a sudden fast trip to cyprus, it was sudden because my mom treated my girl and me to it, and everything wasn't decided and finished till the last day.

Well here I am again and I can see mashallah nice things happened to my fellow bloggers , but looks like people were shy to comment to win the bag, well I will give you one more chance before I start the draw for the bag, you can still comment on my previous post if you want to win, you know winning is nice .

Anyway I still feel tired from the trip, and i have million of things to do , luggage to unpack laundry to wash, house to clean, sleep sleep sleep and hundreds of things to share with you inshallah in the next posts, so bye for now and hopefully I'll see you soon.

I make things..

I love paper crafts, and especially card making, at one time in my life I wanted to do it as a way to earn money, and even my husband thought I should try and make a job out of it. And I tried, but I guess that thinking of the craft I make as a job takes the fun out of it for me, and you should know me by now, if there isn't any fun in it I can't do it.



Well in my not so short not so long life, I had many ideas of what I want to be in my life, one dream was always accompanying these ideas, I wanted to get married and have a family.(hah).

Once I wanted to be a jewelry designer, I spent all my time with a pencil and a notebook in my hands drawing things. I even had drawings on all my college books because I kept day dreaming during lectures and designing..!

After a short time I decided to become a writer.. I kept sitting on my computer all my spare time attempting to write a novel .. I did end up with four chapters and every one who read were very excited to see it end. it didn't and I soon was bored with this idea.

Then came photographing.. I just love this, I had this very great camera my uncle got me that I felt very professional using it, and it actually took the best pictures I've ever had. I even got a book to learn about good photos, but the thing I liked most was choosing non traditional things to photograph. Well I still like to take pictures but not as passionately as before.

I do crafts.. and everything that seems crafty to me I have to at least try once, sometimes I only try things once but after I research everything about that thing, and probably get any materials needed and available for me to get. And I always end up with tons of materials as if I'm living in a craft store ( oh that would be really nice )
I painted..



I mozaiced..



I crocheted and knitted, sewed, cross stiched, embroidered and rug hooked..



and many other things.. The real thing I wish to learn now is pottery and carpentry. And of course I will always love to learn any new craft that catches my attention, like wool felting, but I can't get that material , at least I don't know where to get it from other than the net.

So are you ready for my first give away? I will probably start it tomorrow, I only haven't yet think of what to give..

Digital scrapbooking

Well I only did a few pages with digital scrap booking, but ever discovering it I downloaded millions of free papers, embellishments and ribbons and anything else I find for free on the net. And used them to make cards, tags and even a sign for my laundry room.

And since I still don't have much (or anything) new to share I thought I'll show you two of my pages I did.
The first one is for our first bought baby..



His name was alnunu ( the baby) and we loved him dearly.. We took photos of him, we took him everywhere including the movies. And the best part was when we got fed up with him , we simply put him away some place where we can't see him.!

The second one is for our precious first born baby girl..



I love the way she has many faces in the same photo shoot, she likes posing to cameras since she was little. And in case you are asking, no we can't put her away when we are fed up with her ! but we love her so much we can try our best not to get fed up.

So I am nearly at my 100th post, and to celebrate that I will have a give away ( every one does so why not me! ) I will get you informed when we are there and I'll have to think of a prize to give..
